Patricija Marenić is a librarian and professor of sociology. Since childhood she has been drawing and expressing herself artistically in various ways. In 2019 she decided to devote herself more seriously to artworks. She opened an Instagram account @ticija_crta where she has been publishing her works ever since.
She shows special interest in illustrations and primarily expresses herself in the technique of collage. She combines her drawings of female portraits with the technique of cut and paste materials such as old books, newspapers, magazines, clothing materials and decorative paper.
She also enjoys doing street art, drawing graffitti characters and she would like to do more of that.
She is a self-taught artist who also finished some illustration workshops in Zagreb. Her inspiration lies in Bauhaus and dadaism aesthetic, punk and post-punk music, diy culture, philosophy and literature. Her focus is on the female portraits that she places in dark and sometimes fairytale backgrounds. Those portraits might as well be her alter ego escaping the real life. They are also a message of women empowerment since she places female portraits as main characters in her collages.
She participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Zagreb and Split.
She lives and works in Zagreb.
