Mladi človek ni “od telefona”. Ko ustvarja, napravo oddalji od sebe. Moralno-politični podpiranec staršev in umetniškega kroga mladih, deluje v piranski občini Istre pod Slovenci.

The young man is not “of the phone”. When he creates, he distances himself from the device. Morally and politically supported by his parents and other young artists, Vasko Vidmar creates in the Municipality of Piran in the part of Istria under the Slovenian rule. In the times like these when a simple copy and an original work achieve the same price in the disintegrating market, when the money moves via internet to the “warmer” places, and the only certainty for the young people is uncertainty, he follows the sources inside himself and remains open to a “non-self “. An unconventional self-made man is not formed by schools. Vasko Vidmar profoundly graduated from the secondary school of art in Koper and without any hesitation or enthusiasm became heritage expert graduate. Today he is the initiator of “The Gate to Tomorrow”; artist AND organizer, curator, technical administrator, children’s mentor, youth worker. Although his generous creativity is the very foundation of the only future we have, he remains practically unnoticed by the culturally focused media and institutions.
